English Literature? I don't know her.

(a visual representation of how first year made me feel)

My first year of English Literature at my university left me feeling dissatisfied, uninspired and static. For a degree that focuses on the work and great ideas of others it is hard to feel like you're being productive or working towards anything other than a constant stream of essays and critical thought of a dead man's life work.

I felt jealous of my friends, who study fine art, the passion and agency of their degree and decided that second year would be my year to turn my modules that make me feel stuck in the past into tools for an active future.

This website is going to serve as my own personal study into archiving, curation and attempts to make something out of solitary essay writing and studying, to add to the works of others and to create a mini-portfolio of what English Literature as a degree, and writing as an art form can do for a modern woman.
