I recently read that Jordan Peele ‘quit writing Get Out twenty times before he finally finished it’ and it made me think about how perseverance in your ideas is the backbone of creativity.
The fear of failure plagues people who aren’t represented and are not encouraged to produce and make.
The number of short stories started, poetry abandoned, storyboards made and discarded currently sitting in my uni room, tucked away in flowery notebooks and shoved in drawers is a feminist issue.

If women, especially WOC, trans women, disabled or non-conforming women, are not encouraged to create, the likelihood of making something decreases. The resurgence in my own creativity was sparked by Greta Gerwig’s Ladybird, the beautiful and heart-wrenching film made me want to start storyboarding and writing fervently, and if seeing one film can make this happen what would it be like if more films, tv, galleries, books and newspapers were like this?
The fear of failure and lack of self confidence that women carry in approach to creative fields is a tragedy. So I’ve listed below pages, to follow (if you didn't already) so you can flood your feeds and minds with the actualisation of feminine creativity. Seeing these women on your Instagram and Twitters and across all platforms can become a new backbone of creativity, a constant reminder that your art is worth it, and that productivity does not deem your worth but that it can help you reinstate confidence.
